Graphic Design and New Media Intern

Women Employed (WE) is a 38-year-old advocacy organization whose mission is to improve women’s economic status and remove barriers to economic equity. With a focus on low-paid working women, we are a leader in promoting fair employment practices and increasing access to training and education leading to good jobs.
WE is seeking a Graphic Design and New Media Intern to support the Marketing Communications Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to gain work experience in non-profit marketing, communications, and design.

Responsibilities:
 Developing images and infographics that support Women Employed’s public education and advocacy work.
 Developing banners, buttons, and other images for use in e-communications, our website and social media.
 Designing and laying out print pieces.
 Opportunity to create and edit videos for event promotions and e-campaigns.
 Working with the Marketing and Communications Department on other marketing, design, communications, and social media projects as needed.

Position Requirements:
 Enrolled in a design or new media academic program, or have professional design experience
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 Pro-active; able to work with minimal supervision
 Flexible; comfortable juggling multiple tasks
 Exceptional attention to detail
 Positive, team-oriented attitude
 Experience or familiarity with design for electronic setting and use
 Expertise or familiarity with Adobe design software
 Proficient with basic Microsoft Office programs
 Interest in women’s social and economic justice issues
 Familiarity with video editing software preferred.

10-15 hours/week. $1,500 stipend and/or class credit offered for fall semester – September 1 through December 15. Hours and dates are flexible and negotiable.
