The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences seeks an Executive Assistant Dean who is responsible for general administrative oversight and management of the day-to-day operations of the Student Academic Affairs section of the Office of the Dean.
The executive assistant dean interprets, implements and assesses college policies in providing staff guidance and assuring compliance with college and campus academic standards; collaboratively establishes and implements procedures for efficient and effective operations, provides administrative oversight of all reporting and assessment measures used to interpret and analyze student-related data; reviews and disseminates information to appropriate parties within the college; directly supervises staff and functions of academic support services, degree certification unit, and internships; and performs other related duties and special projects.
Master's degree in an area of the liberal arts, student personnel, or related discipline; minimum of five years of higher education student academic affairs experience and three years of management responsibilities. Preference is for experience in academic advising, student information systems and data bases. Familiarity with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences academic programs, degree requirements, and policies is highly desirable as are strong interpersonal, management, and communication skills. Independent judgment and decision-making skills are essential as are demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
