AVP of New Model Development, Safer Foundation

AVP of New Model Program Development

The Safer Foundation helps people with criminal records re-enter their communities.
Safer has been working for over 40 years to reduce recidivism by helping people with
records obtain employment and social services.


General Summary:

The AVP of New Model Program Development will research, design and manage
through the implementation phase, new model programs. That will include leading the
research and design teams that will guide team planning, organizational strategizing,
external relationship development, funding strategies, program negotiations, program
hiring, and data collection.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Research, plan and strategize organizational program direction, related to the successful reentry of clients and consistent with evidence based principles and best practice research.
  • Provide leadership and incubate new model initiatives until new program models reach stability.
  • Through strategic planning and direction successfully transition new model initiatives to other departments.
  • Ensure effective standard operating procedures and staff training is in place for new program models.
  • Research, plan and design new strategies and programmatic methodologies for the delivery of appropriate reentry services.
  • Bring new program initiatives to operational status through the work of implementation teams convened, directed by, and accountable to the AVP under an established implementation protocol.
  • In collaboration with the Fund Development and other key staff (e.g. HR, Quality, and IT), write and submit proposals that result in funding commitments and contracts for proposed new program models and services.
  • Represent Safer, particularly new program models and findings, as appropriate, to outside audiences and funders.
  • Research and write program models, including fact sheets and case studies.
  • Develop and deliver internal and external reports, analysis, and articles.
  • Serve as member of the organization's Leadership Team.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven experience with project start-up and program development.
  • Proven ability to interface with governmental and community organizations.
  • Knowledge of the needs of people with criminal records.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.

Education and Experience
:
  • At least 5 years Management experience.
  • Bachelors Degree (Masters Preferred) in a related discipline
