The Internship Experience
An internship with CTA offers students a career advantage. In addition to providing students with hands-on, real-world experience, it enables interns to integrate and utilize knowledge and skills from the classroom, discover where further competencies are needed, and become better acclimated to the discipline of the workplace. Students are guided by experts who can help them acquire the skills, knowledge and experience needed to perform in today’s technologically demanding careers.
Human Resources Internship Primary Responsibilities
% Time Responsibility
50% Clerical/Administrative duties
30% Coordinates preparation, collection, presentation and analysis of information for board meetings, projects, reports, etc. Compiles information and writes summaries, memoranda, statistical reports and other communications.
15% Organizes and maintains files and records in accordance with internal procedures. Assists in project management, attending meeting, and produce and distributes various reports.
5% Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements & Experience
q Major: Business Administration related, Communications related, or similar major with demonstrated project based course-work
q Educational Level: Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate Level
q Availability: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm (30-40 hours weekly)
q Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe)
q Strong communication, presentation and computer skills must be able to proficiently communicate both verbally and in writing. Must have good organization skills, maintain confidentiality, customer service oriented, team oriented
q Able to work with large groups and under specific timelines and due date, prioritize, communicate effectively
q Excellent research and analytical skills, able to identify problems/hurdles and be willing to ask for help, willing to go out to the field as needed, project management knowledge a plus
Internship Program Requirements
q Full-time college enrollment status
q Provide an official school transcript
q Pursuing a Bachelors or Graduate Degree (Minimum 12 credit hours for undergraduate and 6 credit hours for Graduates)
q Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
q Be eligible to work in the United States
