JOB SUMMARY:
Dedicated to delivering results that matter to the American
people, the FTA supports, improves, and promotes effective public
transportation, the Nation's fastest growing mode of travel. Through
the administration, management, and oversight of a $10
billion annual grant program, FTA supports the development and
construction of subway, light rail, and bus systems to help
communities provide travel choices; improve access to jobs and
health care; drive economic growth; and protect the environment.
This position is located in the Region V (Chicago) Office and may report to either the Director of the Office of Program Management and Oversight or of the Office of Planning and Program Development.
You will be responsible for assisting in both oversight aspects of programs and projects, as well as the administration of regional activities related to project development.
The ideal candidate for this position is a mid-level transportation program specialist who is looking for an opportunity to join FTA, and apply project and program management experience in interacting with regional and headquarters staff, grantee, Federal and state agencies, contractors, and other interested parties.< p>
