JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a regular, full-time position with the Department of Building & Development, Zoning Administration. Duties and responsibilities include research and preparation of written referrals for rezoning, special exception, and site plan applications; research and writing zoning ordinance determinations and verifications; preparation of staff reports for presentation to the Board of Zoning Appeals for variance and applications; prepare concise and accurate Zoning Ordinance determinations and proffer interpretations. Applicant must possess excellent writing, public speaking and presentation skills in addition to technical and analytical skills to research and prepare written responses, including summaries of all determinations and interpretations. Must possess the ability to do thorough research.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in zoning/planning or related field and at least two years professional zoning/planning or related experience. Certifications desired: Certified Zoning Official, ESI, or AICP.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Attendance at night meetings may be required.
