Job Description
The Department of Political Science at the College of Charleston invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in the area of Public Administration and Policy beginning August 15, 2011. We are seeking candidates who can make contributions to our Master of Public Administration core curriculum and the political science undergraduate major. A PhD in Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field by August 2011 and prior teaching experience are required. The normal teaching load is three courses per semester. The College of Charleston is a public, liberal arts and sciences institution with approximately 10,000 undergraduate students and 1,500 graduate students. The Political Science Department has 21 faculty and 400 undergraduate majors (www.polisci.cofc.edu). In addition to the Master of Public Administration program (www.cofc.edu/~puba), the Department supports a Master of Environmental Studies program, a minor in Geography, and values contributions to the First Year experience program at the College. The College is located in a coastal metropolitan area of over 600,000. Additional information about the institution and the surrounding area is available at www.cofc.edu.
