Job Summary
Under direct supervision of the Budget Director or designee, performs entry level work related to budget and management services and establishes/maintains communication with departmental budget representatives. Answers budget inquiries and informs budget representatives of changes in policy or practice. Receives and reviews budget requests and cost estimates relative to the development of the annual budget. Prepares charts, tables and graphs to be included in the annual budget. Performs data entry functions and information changes into County-wide financial system. Implements a performance management process that leads to a positive and measurable impact on the County. Ensures accurate financial reporting and procedural compliance on all governmental grants. Conducts benchmarking and surveying of similar governmental entities for best practices, researches programs, performs special tasks and completes projects as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree is required. (Must provide original college/university transcript at time of interview)*
  • One (1) year of full-time work experience is required.
*Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States’ territories and Canada must be credentialed by an approved U.S. credential evaluation service belonging to the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE). Original credentialing documents must be presented at time of interview.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
Knowledge of basic financial principles and practices for budgeting. Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to communicate both verbally and in written formats. Knowledge of practices and methods of budget analysis and control. Skill in policy analysis and evaluation of programs related to funding priorities. Skill utilizing data to affect process improvements with measurable outcomes. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
