The Chicago Area Fair Housing Alliance (CAFHA) is seeking candidates
for the Fair Housing Coordinator Position.
CAFHA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves as a
consortium of fair housing and housing advocacy organizations,
government agencies, and municipalities committed to the value of
fair housing, diversity, and integration. CAFHA works to combat
housing discrimination and promote integrated communities of
opportunity through research, education, and advocacy.
The CAFHA Coordinator position is a part-time internship requiring
20 hrs. per month of dedicated activity.
The CAFHA Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and
promoting CAFHA activities, and enhancing CAFHA's web presence. The
CAFHA Coordinator will report to and receive ongoing support from
the CAFHA Marketing Subcommittee and CAFHA Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
*Assist in the planning, implementation,
and promotion of CAFHA's monthly and annual meetings in addition to
any special events.
*Prepare meeting agendas and record and
organize meeting notes and minutes.
*Serve as primary CAFHA liaison, fielding
CAFHA member concerns and questions.
*Update CAFHA's website, Facebook page, and
other promotional sites with creative and innovative content. Assist
in the drafting of letters, memos, and other materials in
conjunction with CAFHA board and subcommittee members.
*Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
*Working on BA in communications, public
policy, social sciences, or other related field of study preferred.
*Experience with web design and social
media platforms.
*Knowledge of and commitment to fair
housing, and housing integration.
Additional Skills
*Desired Strong oral and written
communication skills.
*Ability to work independently, prioritize
tasks, and meet deadlines.
*Familiarity and comfort with word
processing, word press (or other web design programs), spreadsheet,
and presentation software.
