Job Description
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) of the Department of Homeland Security has immediate openings for temporary positions in all 5 boroughs of New York City.
Job Duties:
Conduct research and assess business and workforce needs in affected areas. Employ strategic thinking to identify appropriate approaches, desired outcomes and organizational priorities. Develop and execute business growth solutions for the community, to include business plans and projection of long-term impact on the recovery of the community. Determine potential funding sources and steps for implementation of a project. Build and maintain client relationships in the community, to include local offices, individuals and community groups. Coordinate and effectively lead a team effort.
Experience Requirements:
Degree in relevant field such as Economics, Business, Emergency
Management, Finance, Urban Planning, or Public Administration or 3-5 years of relevant experience. Job requires excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills. Ability to read and interpret financial statement, develop business financial information plans and effectively manage budgets is essential. Develop creative solutions to business and workforce issues in order to restore economic stability in the community. Must bring 1-9 documentation (driver's license and Social Security Card or a current U.S. Passport), Must be a U.S. Citizen and will be required to pass a Federal Security background check.
Skills Required:
Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite, i.e. Excel, Power Point, Outlook and be able to create relevant graphics related to projects.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
•You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
•You must pass a background fingerprint/security check.
•You may be required to work 12 hour shifts….up to 7 days a week.
•You must provide two forms of ID: such as a VALID Driver License (We will not accept if expired), Social Security Card, Birth Certificate etc. or Passport.
