Page is a national award-winning design and planning firm with over 450 staff in six offices in major cities throughout the U.S.  In 2014, BMS Design Group, a well-known west coast urban design, planning and landscape firm joined Page, to provide enhanced urban design and planning services to clients throughout the country and overseas. Our services include planning and urban design, architecture and landscape architecture, interiors, engineering, and consulting for our core markets: academic, civic/government, corporate/commercial, healthcare, housing and hospitality, and science and technology.
The San Francisco office of Page is seeking to fill two positions:
Senior Urban Designer
(15+ years’ experience on urban design projects)
This is an opportunity for a creative design leader with strong urban design, business development, communications, and leadership skills to have a key role in the leadership of our expanding urban design practice.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide design leadership on a wide range of projects:  regional, citywide and district urban design plans, transit-oriented development (TOD) plans, academic and research campus plans, as well as mixed use, residential, and commercial plans for urban and urbanizing environments
  • Lead project teams including ensuring the quality of work and mentoring staff
  • Represent the firm with potential clients, with stakeholders, advisory groups and the public in meetings and workshops
  • Collaborate with senior planners, landscape architects, and architects, as well as other consultants and team members, to create integrated, sustainable and memorable solutions to complex design and planning problems
  • Understand and integrate physical, social, economic, and regulatory factors into feasible solutions for our clients.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Urban Design, Architecture or Landscape Architecture (Masters preferred)
  • Outstanding design and graphic skills
  • Written and verbal proficiency in English
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with design software tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D programs (3DS Max,  Rhino or other)
  • Knowledge of urban planning policies and procedures, zoning
Urban Designer
(3+ years’ experience on urban design projects)
Responsibilities, Skills, and Qualifications:
  • Urban Design experience and training with a Bachelor or Masters Degree in Urban Design (preferred), Architecture or Landscape Architecture
  • Excellent communications skills including fluency in English
  • Ability to work as an essential team member on a diverse range of design and planning projects at a wide range of scales
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS, and 3D programs (3DS Max, Rhino, or other)  
  • Excellent design skills and ability to quickly develop ideas in a fast-paced environment, using hand drawing, plan and 3D visualization tools
  • A collaborative attitude and enjoyment of working on exciting projects with a high caliber team of designers and planners.
