Assistant/Associate Professor, Global Public Management, Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy at the University at Albany (SUNY) - Albany, NY

Assistant / Associate Professor, Global Public Management
Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy at the University at Albany (SUNY) is seeking a colleague with expertise in the management of international organizations (IOs) and/or international nongovernmental organizations (INGOs) to teach in a new professional Master of International Affairs program with courses offered in classrooms in both Albany and New York City as well as using synchronous distance learning (e.g. videoconference). We welcome applications from candidates with disciplinary expertise in public management, nonprofit management, business management, public administration, international relations, political science, sociology or an allied field. We are open to multiple areas of research and teaching with respect to IOs and INGOs, but have a particular interest in those who focus on the “nuts and bolts” challenges of operating IOs and INGOs – from strategic planning and policy implementation to budgeting and fundraising to management of voluntary and paid workforces to management of international development and humanitarian assistance programs to the challenges of cross-cultural management.
The successful candidate will have primary appointment in the Department of Public Administration and Policy with an option for a joint secondary appointment in the Department of Political Science. Appointments will be made at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
All applicants should submit a statement of interest, curriculum vita, a writing sample or publications, and any available evidence of teaching effectiveness (such as syllabi and student evaluations). Candidates should also arrange to have a full dossier (including graduate transcript and at least three letters of reference) submitted through Interview Exchange. Alternatively, graduate transcript and reference letters may be submitted via email to: MIASearch@albany.edu. A review of applications will start on September 15, 2015 and the search will remain open until the position is filled.
