Two Tenure-Track Faculty Positions within the HSEM Program


POSITION DESCRIPTION: The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at Savannah State
University, a senior unit of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor and a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor for faculty members within the Homeland Security and Emergency Management program, with a start date no later than August, 2016.

Assistant Professor Position:
Applications are welcome from candidates who hold (or be expected to receive prior to August
2016) a doctorate degree in the Social Sciences (i.e. Homeland Security, Emergency Management, Political Science, Public Administration/Policy, Urban Planning, or Criminal Justice). Candidates who hold a Master’s degree in Homeland Security and/or Emergency Management with appropriate credentials/experience will also be considered.

Assistant/Associate Professor:
Applications are welcome from candidates who hold (or be expected to receive prior to August
2016) a doctorate degree in the Social Sciences (i.e. Homeland Security, Emergency Management, Political Science, Public Administration/Policy, Urban Planning, or Criminal Justice) and a Master’s Degree in Homeland Security and/or Emergency Management.

For both positions, we are seeking outstanding individuals with professional qualification and research interests in the fields of homeland security and/or emergency management. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm and qualifications necessary to advance the program, engage undergraduate students, and establish relationships that will help enhance the reputation of a regionally-respected undergraduate program of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

SALARY/ BENEFITS: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
