THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO is seeking a candidate who is responsible for working with various departments to mine the rich veins of data collected by the Art Institute of Chicago (AIC) to assist in developing strategies to improve revenues and reduce costs. High among the inquiries will be strategies to improve attendance, grow membership and increase giving. Working closely with constituent departments, develop and implement projects to analyze data from internal and external sources. Translate this analysis into deeper insights that uncover opportunities to improve operation, and then work with the departments to implement new strategic directions that draw upon this work. Provide hands-on data analysis, interpretation and preparation of reports, and most importantly translating data into useable information. Develop recommendations for improvements to data collection and reports that provide improved tools for the institution. Will also develop models that improve the ability to predict attendance. Working with the senior management team to foster a deeper appreciation of the power of a more rigorous approach grounded in data.

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE a Bachelor degree in a related field, MBA preferred. Must have a minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in planning, statistical analysis, financial modeling, trend analysis, and strategic planning, with a track record of effectiveness. A combination of equivalent education, training, and experience will be considered. Ability to work collaboratively with people across all levels of an organization. A proven track record of effective and collegial engagement. Very strong analytical, planning and communication (written and verbal) skills. Demonstrated ability to use data culled from multiple sources to craft and refine strategy. Also, demonstrated experience with quantitative research methods and statistics, and a sound knowledge of qualitative research methods. Must have strong leadership skills.
