Information Technology Technical Associate - Honors College CA8983


The Honors College at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking to fill the position of IT Technical Associate. Under minimal supervision, the IT Technical Associate will manage the daily operations of the IT office for the Honors College; design, implement and troubleshoot IT needs of all staff, complex systems applications, and core infrastructure solutions related to data management; analyze profile management, data center, backup/restore, disaster recovery, archive systems and identify opportunities for process improvement in the College; acts as the College's webmaster, making technical additions and changes to the college website; and other duties as assigned.


Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
  • Any combination totaling two (2) years from the following categories:
  • Progressively more responsible work experience in IT-related profession
  • College course work in Information Technology (IT), IT Management, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
  • 60 semester hours or Associate's Degree equals one year
  • 90-120 semester hours or Bachelor's Degree equals two years
  • Working knowledge of Visual Basic and SQL
  • Basic web design and maintenance experience
  • Microsoft Access database maintenance experience
