Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago

Location: Chicago

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as liaison and primary point of contact between Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago (EFGC) and Community Advisory Boards (CAB), responding to requests for materials, program information, and other needs.
  • Attend Community Advisory Board meetings regularly
  • Work with Client Service team, Community Advisory Boards, and other internal agency stakeholder groups to develop, monitor and implement effective marketing and participation strategies for EFGC programs.
  • Must be able to work some evenings and weekends
  • Identify and enhance community partnerships related to fundraising, marketing, awareness, and program participation.
  • Oversee distribution of Foundation education and awareness materials in community.
  • Participate in Foundation Marketing and Communications efforts in the areas of social media, public awareness/outreach, and media relations as needed.
  • Coordinate and implement volunteer program; recruits, trains, places, and supervises volunteers as well as interns and other non-paid personnel.
  • Communicate with volunteers as well as keep them informed through monthly volunteer newsletter.
  • Support in planning and participation in Foundation activities and events.
  • Track and maintain volunteer records and hours served.
  • Create and coordinate Annual Volunteer Appreciate Day/Event
  • Create job descriptions, training sessions, training materials, evaluation and other details to help with the placement and maintenance of volunteers.
  • Works with regular staff to identify the volunteer needs and will use staff input to design accurate job descriptions and placement in appropriate departments/initiatives.
  • Represent EFGC at meetings, conferences, special events, etc. as needed
  • Work with external vendors as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s Degree a must
• Strong organizational skills
• Valid drivers license
• Ability to travel within local region and work remotely

- Motivated self-starter
• 3-5 years experience working in a non-profit environment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Willingness to assume new responsibilities as needed over time
