As the Executive Service Corps of Chicago (ESC) implements its new, comprehensive growth plan for the future and expands its capacity to meet the critical and evolving needs of Chicago area nonprofits and the communities they serve, it needs an experienced Manager of Consulting to take responsibility for ESC’s individualized consulting and coaching services. ESC is the metropolitan Chicago area's largest nonprofit provider of capacity-building services to nonprofits and public agencies. ESC's over 250 volunteer consultants strengthen nonprofit clients across the six-county area by equipping them with leadership, management, governance and practical skills to grow their services and impact. As a staff member in support of ESC's mission and volunteers, you will have a significant impact on a variety of nonprofit organizations.
Under the direction of the Director of Consulting, the Manager of Consulting is accountable for ensuring a consistent level of quality throughout ESC consulting assignments and assuring that client satisfaction targets are met. The Manager of Consulting will bring a high level of consulting and volunteer management experience to interactions with ESC consultants and clients, applying innovative solutions and measurement standards to assure consistent quality management and optimal services for each ESC client.
Monitor and manage client projects to ensure high quality consultation
- Establish and refine systems to track, manage and report on client projects and continued client relationships
- Maintain exceptional quality service through correct matching of clients and consultants
- Develop clear, documented project objectives with agreed-upon timeline for deliverables
- Coordinate billing of clients with accounting team
- Maintain accurate data on projects, consultant assignments, and client feedback.
- Collaborate with Volunteer Recruitment team to ensure training programs are calibrated to changing client needs and environmental challenges
- Ensure that consultants have top-notch support to deliver high-quality, consistent service to clients
- Assure that there are systematic benchmark standards for quality project management
- Assure consistent integration of client service approaches while allowing for flexibility and customization to meet client needs
- Work with Program Staff to develop and implement evaluation system for client projects and ESC impact
- Use evaluation system and work with Program Staff to ensure standards for consultants are being met and projects have the desired impact.
ESC is seeking an enthusiastic individual committed to the Chicago nonprofit community with the following qualifications:
- Commitment to ESC’s mission; passion for the nonprofit sector
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience
- Significant experience in volunteer management and customer-service orientation
- Background in program and performance evaluation, preferably including design and implementation of an impact measurement system
- Highly organized and flexible, with superior attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines
- Problem solving skills, diplomacy, and commitment to confidentiality
- Affinity for working both independently and in collaboration with staff and volunteers
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Windows and MSOffice applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access).
