RW Ventures, LLC - Intern Position
RW Ventures, LLC is an economic development firm specializing in market-based strategies for regional and community development. Examples of our current projects include the roll-out of a new approach to regional economic development in partnership with the Brookings Institution; designing a pilot project to enable large-scale, coordinated development of commercial corridors in underserved neighborhoods; developing the concept for a pilot project that would leverage neighborhood assets to support regional clusters; and crafting an economic development strategy for a segment of the local green economy. We seek an innovative, organized and highly motivated intern to play an integral role in implementing these and other projects.
Responsibilities:
Conduct background research and literature reviews on varied topics, ranging from business culture to theories of market emergence and specific industry or occupational clusters
Draft memos and reports on background research and analytic results
Participate in project and team meetings to evaluate results
Identify and define targeted strategies and products to address specific issues (e.g., human capital deployment, cluster development) for various geographies (neighborhood, region, etc.)
Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Analytical skills to compare, contrast and draw conclusions from complex information
Time management and organizational skills to balance multiple projects
Rapid acquisition of new knowledge and skills
Ability to work in low-structure environment
Attention to detail and sense of ownership for work products
Experience in the economic development field a plus
Compensation: Based on experience
