Assistant Director - Construction Compliance


The Office for Capital Programs is seeking a FT Assistant Director, Construction
Compliance to provide on-site architectural and/ MEP inspection of ongoing projects
for compliance with documents, building standards and applicable codes. Duties may
include but not limited to: Direct the development of plans and specifications for
buildings, building additions, remodeling sites and landscape improvements; Ensure
that design and construction documents comply with project drawings, specifications
and applicable codes; assist with MEP and building automation commissioning ;
Inspect construction work on assigned projects with the emphasis on improving the
quality of installations; Ensures that work and materials comply with project
drawings, specifications, and applicable codes; Provide recommendations for updates
to UIC Building Standards related to building automation systems; Assist in the
diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair of campus building automation systems.
Minimum Requirements: Applicant must have a B.A or B.S degree in architecture,
related engineering field or construction; minimum of 3-5 years of experience in
management of design and construction of multiple simultaneous projects. Applicant
must have strong communications ability, good interpersonal and organizational
skills. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, scheduling software and building
automation experience is preferred.
