Job Description
A small but growing Detroit-based consulting firm is seeking an experienced “hit-the-ground-running” planning and evaluation consultant to work with nonprofit clients in the areas of community and strategic planning, and program design and evaluation. Competitive candidates for this full-time position must be experienced working in diverse, urban settings.

Consultant responsibilities will include:

* Assisting in the design of strategic planning processes and program evaluations
* Gathering data through interviews, focus groups, surveys and other methods
* Facilitating interactive planning sessions
* Managing planning and evaluation projects
* Analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and developing recommendations
* Responding to Requests for Proposals
* Preparing written reports and making project-related presentations
* Other related duties, as needed

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates should posses the following:

* Exceptional communications skills, particularly writing
* Superior analytical skills
* Very strong interpersonal skills—able to work comfortably in corporate and community-based settings
* Excellent organizational skills—able to manage multiple projects at once
* Ability to manage projects effectively, and also work well as a member of a team
* Experience with program or strategic planning, evaluation, or policy analysis
* At least 6 years experience working in an urban setting with community-based organizations, governmental agencies or foundations, preferably in a position where analysis of data and development of recommendations are a core component of the position
* Strong work ethic and ability to work well on deadline, at times under pressure

Candidates should have Masters degree or higher in fields such as public health, urban planning, public policy, public administration, social work or education, and at least 6 years related experience. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply.
