Transportation Planner The Champaign County Regional Planning Commission seeks a Transportation Planner to work in its transportation program, the Champaign-Urbana Urbanized Area Transportation Study (CUUATS). Under general supervision, the Transportation Planner will work in a wide variety of professional transportation planning projects including but not limited to: Data collection, data analysis; comprehensive planning; grant research and writing; transportation and land use modeling; accessibility and mobility analysis. This is a full time (37.5 hours/week) position with benefits. Salary based on experience; $22.49/hr. minimum. Minimum qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree with major course work in transportation, urban, or regional planning, transportation engineering, or a related field, plus a minimum of 2 years of experience as a land use or transportation planner. The MPO is looking for a team player with a range of skills including strong quantitative and interpretive abilities, working knowledge of geographic information systems software, land use modeling and statistical analysis. Excellent communication skills and working knowledge of computer programming language are desirable.
