EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
CHANGE Illinois (Coalition for Honest and New Government Ethics) is a reform organization committed to promoting honest, uncompromised governmental leadership, open elections, a high degree of voter participation, and an effective policy making system with potent checks and balances in Illinois state and local government. These outcomes are achieved through research, public education, coalition building, strategic communications and policy development. CHANGE engages Illinois residents in creating a government that is more transparent, accountable, and responsive to their needs. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors of engaged civic, business and non- profit leaders with decades of collective experience in the public and private sector, who represent an important network of influence.
The Executive Director of CHANGE Illinois is charged with carrying out its mission under the direction of its Board of Directors. Together, the Executive Director and Board are responsible for maintaining the health and vitality of the organization, setting its strategic direction, and assuring accountability of CHANGE Illinois to its diverse constituents.
CHANGE Illinois seeks an entrepreneurial, highly motivated self-starter with the energy and tenacity to guide governmental reform initiatives. Prior experience in a leadership role where s/he has either reported directly to or worked closely with a Board of Directors is preferred. Experience with and a passion for reform movements is required. A track record of influencing others to action and the ability to galvanize support for CHANGE Illinois initiatives is sought. Ability to successfully sustain and build a coalition and act as a consensus builder is required. The ideal candidate will have a track record of successfully securing funds from individuals, foundations, and other revenue sources. An undergraduate degree is required.
