Impact Sciences Inc., a California environmental consulting firm and small business is seeking a Staff Planner/Project Planner for our Oakland office. In business for more than 25 years, Impact Sciences is a private consulting firm providing interdisciplinary services to both government agencies and the private sector.
The Staff Planner/Project Planner position will support senior staff members primarily in the Oakland office, but may also provide support to senior staff in the Camarillo and Pasadena offices. This person will assist in the preparation of environmental documents in accordance with CEQA/NEPA statutes for a wide spectrum of projects. The ideal candidate should have one to three years of direct experience preparing CEQA documents (EIRs, MNDs, NDs, etc.) as well as either experience preparing NEPA documents or a basic understanding of NEPA.
Daily tasks may include c with a multi-disciplinary team. Candidates must be able to take initiative, work simultaneously on multiple projects, maintain a strong work ethic and possess proficient written and verbal communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines, proofread, identify and resolve problems are required qualifications for success.
Candidates selected at the Project Planner level will also be on track for increasing responsibility in project management and business development.
Requirements
  • One to three years of direct CEQA experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies/science, urban planning, or a related filed
  • Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills and ability to prepare accurate and clear reports and presentations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
