JOB SUMMARY:

This position is located in the Department of Housing & Urban Development, Office of Community Planning and Development in Washington DC.
As a Community Planning and Development (CPD) Specialist , you will:
  • Research and/or analyze community development and affordable housing problems, issues, or program regulations and requirements.
  • Provide expert analysis and advice on complex program issues.
  • Monitor and evaluate CPD program performance and data, including use of HUD's financial and programmatic information technology management systems.
  • Provide guidance, recommendations and assistance to CPD senior level staff to eliminate audit findings, improve program performance, develop innovating policy or procedural findings, and implement goals and objectives for various CPD programs
  • Interface with the Office of Congressional Intergovernmental Relations, Office of Public Affairs, the Office of the Deputy Secretary, and the Office of the Secretary.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized Experience is one year of experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

This experience must include:
- Providing general information, advice and guidance to support management, senior staff members and grant program recipients; AND
- Planning, accomplishing and managing special projects; AND
- Researching and evaluating program performance

For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized Experience is one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

This experience must include:
- Planning and managing special projects; AND
- Providing research and analysis on program requirements and goals; AND
- Communicating program goals and objectives both orally and in writing; AND
- Creating and making presentations to stakeholders and outside groups.
