GrowNYC, NYC’s go-to nonprofit resource for environmental sustainability is seeking a Director of Development. GrowNYC is seeking a Development Director who will work closely with the small extant development team and report directly to our Executive Director and Assistant Director. This individual is responsible for the overall strategy and management of the fundraising efforts. This includes identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations and government organizations, including a modest capital campaign in 2015 for a bricks and mortar project; corporate and foundation partnerships, management of grant proposals; special events; and implementation of online and offline giving appeals. S/he will work closely with the Executive Director, Assistant Director and Development and Communications Manager plus supervise current development staff to align fundraising efforts with the strategic directions and needs of the organization.

Qualifications
The Director of Development is a highly accomplished professional with a distinguished and proven track record of achieving significant major gift charitable support, and experience in creating and implementing a capital campaign strategy.
S/he has strong management, writing and interpersonal skills, and the vision to motivate our extant development team in a collaborative and collegial environment.
A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience of fundraising experience, with the ability to show progressive achievements in personal solicitation and the ability to create a high performing and sustainable development program.
Should possess good emotional intelligence, the ability to do more with less, bring creative thinking to all aspects of the job, a good sense of humor and not be easily discouraged, and of course great attention to detail.
Experience with an environmental or food organization is advantageous, but is not required.
Salary: $80,000 + benefits
