Santa Clara County, the 5th largest county in California, is seeking outstanding candidates who support comprehensive, collaborative planning efforts to improve the quality of life for our citizens.  This is an exciting and challenging career opportunity for an individual will provide strong leadership and direction to a department of over 80 staff that are responsible for the areas of comprehensive planning and implementation of the General Plan, Building Inspection, Land Development Engineering, Surveying, and administration of land development regulations. 
Qualifications:
Candidates for this position will typically possess education and experience equivalent to a BA in Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Studies, Public or Business Administration or a closely related field and a minimum of four (4) years recent experience managing staff and operations in a complex organization in two or more of the following areas: community development, land use planning, policy development, or civil engineering/surveying. A portion of the management experience must be in or related to public sector planning.
Salary:
$156,060.06—$200,258.50 Annually, DOE  The County provides a generous Executive Management benefit package
