Job Description

ACT, Inc. and the National Center for Educational Achievement are inviting qualified candidates with a strong background in education or educational sales/marketing to apply for the position of Principal Consultant, NCEA Services. This position will be located in Austin, TX.


ACT is a not-for-profit, nationally recognized leader in educational assessment, research, and information services. Each year, ACT serves millions of people in elementary and secondary schools, colleges, professional associations, and government agencies. The National Center for Educational Achievement (NCEA) is an ACT-owned non-profit organization committed to providing data and best-practice research to help educators, policy makers, and other leaders raise academic expectations and promote practices to ensure all students are college/career ready.


The Principal Consultant will assist the NCEA Director of Outreach in the marketing and sales of NCEA tools and services, and in promoting the research that supports them. Typical work-related activities will include establishing and maintaining relationships with educational leaders and policymakers in target states; developing national strategies and goals for the sales of NCEA solutions; identifying and cultivating potential funding sources for NCEA, including sales leads and foundation or corporate support; presenting NCEA services and promoting NCEA at industry events, business meetings, trade shows, and other executive networking activities; working with state policymakers on the continuing implementation of state policy supporting NCEA solutions and research; and developing marketing and sales materials targeted to educators, parents, and policymakers.
Job Requirements

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in marketing, education, or related field and at least 4-7 years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). Prefer candidates with substantial experience in sales and marketing of K-12 school improvement models, curriculum, or assessment.
