Job Description
Are you an experienced program planner with a passion for educational content and putting together memorable, substantive sessions? Do you excel at multitasking and negotiation? Do you enjoy a collaborative work environment? Is being “The Best” important to you? A high level real estate association with a Michigan Avenue address seeks an experienced Program Director to assist in program development and planning, negotiate contracts, oversee meeting budgets and supervise logistics, and on site events. Travel to major U.S. urban areas 4 – 6 times per year is also required.

Direct the program planning for 2 four day national meetings per year held in major urban areas.

Negotiate hotel and other service provider contracts.

Serve as staff liaison for committees dealing with educational programming and presentation.

Participate in the writing and production of promotional materials for programs and events.

Supervise the development and execution of all logistics for meetings, conventions, and other special programs.

Develop and monitor annual meetings budget and adhere to those numbers.

Manage speaker agreements and arrangements.

Handle on-site management of events.

Direct the program planning for other meetings as assigned.

Supervise support staff.

Requirements



3 - 5 years of proven, high level program and meetings experience a must in either a non-profit or corporate environment; knowledge of real estate a plus.

Requires excellent organization and communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Solid experience with budget management, vendor selection and negotiation.

Proficiency with MS Office programs.

Bachelors Degree required.
