Graduate Hourly Position: Center on Health Promotion Research for People with Disabilities

Graduate Hourly Position

The Center on Health Promotion Research for People with Disabilities in the
Department of Disability and Human Development in the College of Applied
Health Sciences has an immediate opportunity for a graduate hourly to work
up to 20 hours per week. The graduate hourly will work closely with the
project coordinator to build a pilot site which will allow users to map out
the accessibility of their communities, look up information about their
community, and examine different kinds of data about their community in an
interactive fashion.

The main duties for this position include the development of an interactive
mapping website and development of a pilot web mapping application using new
tools through the ArcGIS.com development center that involve JavaScript
API's and Flex API's. Also important are CSS, AJAX implementations and
providing tech support.

Applicant must be a graduate student enrolled in UIC and must be
knowledgeable in PHP, SQL, JavaScript, CSS and Photoshop. Multimedia and
linux skills will prove to be advantageous and any experience with web
mapping applications is a plus. Candidate must be able to work with minimal
supervision on projects of great depth.
