Description
Seeking professional candidate for immediate opening at a Fast Growing Civil consulting Firm. The position is to assist in the urban planning and public involvement components of surface transportation projects working with other planner and engineering professionals. The successful candidate will have three to six years experience in urban & regional planning or a related field. The position is located in Peoria, IL.
Requirements
Specific requirements and job duties include the following at a minimum:
Urban & Regional Planning
* Existing and future land use mapping and analysis
* Collection and analysis of area plat maps
* Coordination with local planners (Peoria area)
* Collection and analysis of socioeconomic and demographic data
* Writing and editing of impact assessment documents
* Miscellaneous social and environmental impact assessment activities
* Includes frequent trips to the Peoria area
Public Involvement
* Coordinating public and agency involvement efforts such as arranging details for open houses, workshops, committee meetings, etc. (locations, refreshments, supplies, logistics, equipment, etc.)
* Assisting in the composition, design, printing, and distribution of a variety of public and media outreach materials such as public notices, newsletters, brochures, flyers, banners and posters, displays
* Creating and maintaining public involvement data bases
* Effectively responding to public comment and concerns in writing, on the telephone and iIn person
* Participation in public meetings, committee meetings, and other citizen events
* Miscellaneous public outreach tasks
Marketing Ability is a Plus:
Prepare marketing materials, and company brochure.
Computer Skills is a Plus:
CADD Experience, GIS software use and/or analysis and Photo Shop.
