Office Associate, Dept. of Natural Resources - Springfield, IL

 

Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is looking to hire an Office Associate.  This position will provide specialized office support and type a variety of complex correspondence, statistical reports, edit and review material for accuracy, assists division staff with bid filing and bid opening process, perform data entry, queries of database and other clerical duties assigned within the division.  The ideal candidate will be able to utilize their organizational and communication skills along with their office experience.  We encourage all interested applicants to apply.

Essential Functions

  • Under direction, provides specialized clerical and administrative support for the Permitting Unit manager as well as other unit staff.
  • Assists Unit Manager and staff in administration of the department’s Abandoned Well Plugging and Restoration Program.
  • Performs data entry functions from various unit forms, permits, inputting specific data elements into Division database.
  • Performs research, using Division physical and computer well files to resolve problems on submitted forms.
  • Prepares weekly permit list from Division database of well drilling permits issued
  • Serves as back-up receptionist for Office.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two years of office experience

Advocacy Specialist, DCFS - Springfield, IL

 

Position Summary

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Advocacy Specialist. Subject to management approval, this position will manage case situations which are made directly or referred to the Advocacy Office involving complaints, problems, concerns, questions, requests for service and information, and clarification of laws, policies, and procedures. About the Position
The Executive 1 position works with grant managers and the 35 grantees throughout Illinois to give training and technical assistance on monitoring, grants, modifications, regarding Community Assistance Block Grant activities in the Office of Community Assistance.   • Prefers one (1) + years of professional experience developing, implementing, and interpreting departmental policies and procedures.
  • Prefers one (1) + years of professional experience developing, installing, and evaluating new and revised methods, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Prefers one (1) + years of professional experience providing data analytic services and creating and maintaining documentation.
  • Prefers one (1) + years of professional experience developing prototypes in scripting languages such as but not limited to Python or R.
  • Prefers one (1) + years of professional experience developing data analytic plans and methods of a program.
  • Prefers one (1) + years of professional experience working with data sets commonly utilized for analysis in the public or private sector.
  • Prefers one (1) + years of professional experience working with Microsoft Forms and SharePoint.
  • Prefers one (1) + years of professional experience demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills by establishing and maintaining cooperative working relations.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This position requires the applicant to pass a background check.
  • Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last minute overtime. 
  • Requires the ability to travel to meetings, training and off site consultations.
