Dean of the School of Architecture, Design & Planning.
The School of Architecture, Design & Planning is home to the Department of Architecture, the Department of Design, and the Department of Urban Planning. The School has 1,000 majors, 45 faculty members, and is nationally known for its design/build architecture studios, industry sponsored design projects, and award winning research in urban planning.
The ideal candidate will be an intellectual leader among the faculty, and a strong advocate for the teaching and research mission of the School. S/he will be an energetic and conscientious administrator who has a proven record of success, is respected by the disciplines represented in the School, and has the ability to increase necessary resources. As an entrepreneurial leader with a creative vision, the Dean must articulate a mission for the School within both disciplinary and interdisciplinary contexts. In response to the dynamic landscape of higher education, s/he must advance the goals and reputation of the School at the regional, national and international levels. The Dean must also show a commitment to diversity among students and faculty.
Candidates must possess an appropriate advanced degree in one of the disciplines represented by the School and qualify for appointment as a tenured full professor at the University.
