City of Laguna Beach Community Development Department seeks a talented, enthusiastic professional to fill a newly created position performing professional-level tasks in the field of view restoration and preservation. Duties include providing information and assistance to developers, the business community and public with respect to view related matters, management of the View Restoration / Preservation Permit process, including site inspections, referrals for mediation services and recommendations to the Department Head, View Restoration Committee, Planning Commission, and/or City Council. Duties will also include other planning and development related matters. Minimum requirements include education equivalent to completion of a four-year degree from an accredited university or college with major course work in planning, geography, public administration, business management or a related field. Four to five years of experience in urban planning in either current or comprehensive planning is also required. Experience and related education in the field of view preservation, restoration and mediation, arboriculture and/or horticulture is highly desired.
