Raimi + Associates, an urban planning and public health firm with offices in Berkeley, Los Angeles, and Riverside, California, is seeking an Urban Planning and Public Health Specialist for the “City of Los Angeles General Plan Framework Public Health Chapter” project. The Health Chapter will address how land use, transportation, economic development, and other planning activities can improve health outcomes in the City. The position will work on-site in the City of Los Angeles Planning Department, overseen by Raimi + Associates staff.

The Urban Planning and Public Health Specialist will manage the Health Chapter project. This position requires skills in project management, grant administration, technical review and analysis, public presentations, stakeholder engagement, strategic communications, inter-departmental coordination, policy analysis and development, implementation strategies, and strategic and critical thinking. The ideal candidate will understand how to work within a public agency while coordinating efforts with consultants, partners, and stakeholders. The candidate must be able to manage the project, assist with the public outreach effort, and produce the majority of project deliverables.

Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Masters degree in urban planning, public policy, or similar field.
- Minimum of five-years of work experience in a relevant field.
- Proven knowledge of and experience working on the relationship between health and planning.
- Significant experience with project management for multi-year projects that involve multiple partners, stakeholders, and consultants.
- Experience writing General Plans, Specific Plans, and other policy documents.
- Experience writing codes and ordinances.
- Experience working for a local government or as a consultant working directly with local government staff, ideally in or around Los Angeles.
