Sam Schwartz Engineering is hiring a Transportation Engineer for our office in downtown Chicago. This position will include working on projects such as protected bike lane design, bike share, and the reconstruction of North Lake Shore Drive. The ideal candidate will be a person who has a strong background in urban traffic engineering, is creative, and will be able to assist in growing the office.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelors or Masters Degree in civil engineering, an EIT or PE, between two and six years of experience, knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, Synchro, and Adobe Creative Suite, and excellent written communication skills. It is also important that the candidate have a basic understanding of bicycle, pedestrians, and transit planning.
The person hired for this position will participate in all stages of project development including, proposals, field work, technical reports, presentations, and business development. This position may require travel outside of the Chicago area.
