Description:  Under direction of the Director of Finance and Administration, the Financial Analyst/Planner Specialist will apply professional level expertise in developing and enhancing cost analysis and allocation and financial reporting tools for the school. The school seeks an individual with the demonstrated ability to conduct proper cost accounting of revenues/expenses for the school's various cost centers and programs.

Duties and Responsibilities: Enhance cost allocation models and financial reports that effectively communicate financial results. Develop and maintain the financial infrastructure and procedures to deliver high level service, efficiency and accuracy of financial information and reporting, and compliance.  Perform accounting transactions and financial analysis to achieve proper cost accounting. Manage revenue and expense accounting, payables and receivables processing, account reconciliation, distribution of tuition revenues to internal units and to the campus academic partners, accounting for instruction pay, and monthly and year-end close activities for select programs.  Monitor the budget for select programs throughout year, update estimated revenues and expenses, maintain expense controls, prepare variance analyses, interpret financial data and results, advise the Director on budget issues, unfavorable trends or budget deviations and recommend course of action.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Any one or any combination that equals three (3) years (36 months) from the categories below:
a) Progressively more responsible experience in developing financial or economic analyses, research designs, strategic plans, or data models
b) Credit for college course work comparable to that in a field related to financial analysis/planning such as finance, planning, economics, or operations research with 12 hours in empirical fields such as statistics or computer science o 60 semester hours equals 1 year (12 months) o 90 semester hours equals 2 years (24 months) o 120 semester hours or higher equals 3 years (36 months)

2. Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience comparable to that gained as a Financial Analyst/Planner Associate in addition to the experience/training required in 1 above.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in business administration, finance, PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION, education or five to seven year's professional experience in budgeting, finance, business operations, higher education, government. Experience in developing financial reporting tools.
Experience in developing and maintaining complex financial models.
Experience in evaluating financial performance and preparing related financial analyses, and projects.

Ability to develop, implement and interpret policies and procedures.
Strategic thinker and the ability to translate strategies into financial plans. Strong communication skills, with the ability to interpret and summarize data to help management achieve strategic and operational goals.
Manage competing deadlines and independently establish priorities. Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Knowledge of government finance and/or budgeting. Excellent Excel and analytical skills. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and relationship building skills. Well- developed presentation skills. Requires entrepreneurial spirit focused on helping the school to achieve its financial goals. Self-directed individual able to work independently and make decisions. Commitment to service.
