Job Description:

The City of Bridgeport, CT is now accepting resumes for a SENIOR
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE.

The office of OPED focuses on brownfield remediation to position
formerly developed properties for new uses and redevelopment plans to
transition underutilized districts into higher intensity developments.
This division works in close coordination with other divisions to
create a livable and sustainable community with strong and diverse
neighborhoods oriented towards transit and the city’s unparalleled
waterfront opportunities.

DUTIES:  This candidate will manage major projects and initiatives for
the Office of Planning and Economic Development.  Illustrative duties
are as follows: Undertake project management duties and perform
related tasks as assigned the OPED Director and Division Director;
Represent OPED in meeting and forums as directed; Formulate project
work plans: obtain necessary approvals for projects work plans;
Prepare project budgets; manage project finances; Coordinate tasks and
activities related to project implementation; Supervise contractors
and vendors to facilitate project implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS:  This candidate should have a minimum of eight years
of responsible experience is an economic development redevelopment, or
a real estate development capacity; demonstrated experience in project
management roles.  A graduate degree in business administrative,
public administrative or planning is required and may be substituted
for 2 years of relevant experience; A strong working knowledge of
business finance, real estate development and city planning and Formal
training in economic development finance or commercial credit is
required.
