Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm, with a 1-hour lunch.

 

Qualifications needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health education, health policy, public health, social sciences, communications, or a related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required.
  • At least two years’ related administrative or project coordination experience required, preferably related to public health programs. Experience with educational programming and online project tracking systems/database management strongly preferred. Experience working with health professionals, state- or community-based programs, and grants management highly desired.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, oral/written communication, and critical thinking skills required, including strong writing and proofreading skills.
  • Some overtime, weekend work, and travel required.

 

Some tasks include:

  • Coordinate the development and distribution of Requests for Proposals, including collation of materials to facilitate scoring, leadership review/approval, notification of applicants, and preparing check or wire transfer requests.
  • Provide technical and administrative support for project-related webinars, conference calls, meetings, and/or focus groups, including scheduling, tracking attendance, compiling agendas, and drafting meeting minutes.
  • Assist in responding to and tracking project-related technical assistance inquiries and refer inquiries to project staff and project oversight group members, as needed.
  •  Coordinate the dissemination of tools, resources, and communication materials related to cooperative agreement activities and serve as the point of contact with AAP Public Affairs staff.
  • Assist in the recruitment, tracking, and ongoing communication with immunization subject matter experts and Chapter Immunization Representatives.

The Community Health Outreach Worker provides health education, disease management education, health care and social service navigation services, and/or case management services to patients/community residents. The Community Health Outreach Worker will work within the community to establish relationships and maintain a presence amongst the community and community partners.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide pertinent health education and health behavior information to patient population/priority communities with the intent of assisting community members in improving health.
  • Establish positive learning expectations for patients/participants and their families by assessing their needs and explaining information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Work closely with patients and/or families to provide health education in various settings such as during home visits, health fairs, community events, clinic, hospital, ER, or via phone.
  • Under supervision, assist patients/participants/community members in obtaining the appropriate needed health services (e.g., doctors, follow-up exams, medications, referrals, etc.) and/or social services.
  • Follow-up on all issues until resolved or the proper authorities are notified.
  • Perform home visits to members to provide health education and ensure continued engagement.
  • Provides telephonic and in-person outreach to address member care gaps and other needs.
  • Thoroughly document and record all interactions with program patients and participants in the community using the data collection procedures established by the department. This may include inputting data and information into spreadsheets, databases, electronic health record systems and others.
  • Writes up work experiences/case stories/anecdotal evidence about program/intervention.
  • Monitor and order project supplies including educational materials and medical devices as needed.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with community residents, community organizations and stakeholders to further the work of SSHCO in the community and to promote program goals.
  • Assist in conducting surveys such as community health needs assessment and informs leadership of the needs of the service communities.
  • Assist in program-wide recruiting efforts by developing relationships with community-based leaders, organizations and community members and providing approved health education materials and resources to community members and organizations.
  • Collect information from community members and program participants for reports and data to measure program impact. Assist with preparing reports.
  • Represent SSHCO at community events and coalition/community meetings to understand community issues and build relationships with community members.
  • Assist in establishing new SSHCO programs and care models as needed.
  • May present program information at conferences and other professional events.
  • Participate regularly in internal and external professional development opportunities.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects and assignments as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Flexible work schedule required. The typical schedule is weekdays 8:00am – 4:30pm but shifts may vary, and occasional weekend/evening work may be required.
  • Travel: This position requires regular travel throughout the Chicagoland area. A valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance are required.
  • Education: High school diploma or the equivalent required.
  • Experience:
    • 2 years of direct patient care or community/patient health experience preferred.
  • Computer Skills:

What: Full-time Visiting Research Associate II position available.  The Research Associate will join the multidisciplinary research team of the Everyday Experiences and Environments (E3) Study.  This study uses ecological momentary assessment to understand how day-to-day experiences and environments affect an individual’s behaviors.  The Research Associate will be involved in all aspects of primary data collection with participants, in both the office and community settings.

Duties:

Research

  • Perform social-behavioral research by recruiting participants for a research study.
  • Disseminate information and educate individuals and groups about the study via community meetings, phone, and electronic communications.
  • Screen and determine potential adult participants’ eligibility for study enrollment and complete enrollment procedures, including obtaining informed consent.
  • Conduct surveys, interviews, observations or use other methods according to established research protocols.
  • Administer tests and/or questionnaires following protocols and monitor participants’ adherence to study procedures.
  • Compile, tabulate and/or process electronic reports, gather information, and/or assist in the preparation of material for inclusion in reports.
  • Train participants in use of study equipment and study procedures.
  • Participate in study meetings.
  • May assist with study protocol development.
  • Coordinate the ordering, inventory and maintenance of equipment, instruments and data collection and analysis tools.

Communication

  • Schedule study visits with participants. Electronically monitor participants’ timely adherence to study procedures. Communicate with participants via texts, phone calls, and email to provide support and troubleshoot technical, motivational, or other issues with data collection.
  • Data collection activities will take place in person and via video conferencing. Some recruitment and data collection activities will be conducted at community locations in the Chicago metropolitan area. Some evening and Saturday work will be required on an ongoing or intermittent basis.
  • Prepare and contribute statistical data and pertinent information for papers, grants and other documents.
  • Complete required documentation for regulatory agencies.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required.
  • Knowledge of research concepts, practices and procedures.
  • At least 1 year of research experience required.

* Assists the Vice President in strategic planning for upcoming events or goal setting.

* Engages on or leads a variety of special projects including developing Government Relations’ retreats, strategic initiatives, and systems to make more effective work happen.

About the Position
This is an exciting opportunity to engage in civic entrepreneurship for both immediate and long term impact. Build Public is seeking a new Program Manager to take on existing and new "Build Public Stewardship" projects, involving the development of innovative small-scale governance and financing systems to effectively maintain and steward public open spaces in San Francisco.

The Stewardship Program Manager will be responsible for growing Build Public's Green Benefit District (GBD) program, consulting for the Dogpatch & Northwest Potrero Hill GBD as needed. The Program Manager will also guide the establishment of two new Community Facilities Districts (CFDs) in association with two of our San Francisco public plaza projects: Eagle Plaza and Oak Plaza. Additionally, with initial guidance from Build Public's Executive Director and Strategic Advisor, the Program Manager is expected to grow the Build Public Stewardship program area by continually exploring new GBD and CFD creation opportunities.

S/he has prior professional experience managing complex projects with minimal supervision or direction, taking ownership of a project and proactively problem-solving. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in planning, business, nonprofit management, or related field. Graduate degree a plus.
  • Strong interest in being an integral part of a fast-paced startup environment; ability to self-direct and proactively problem-solve; flexibility and adaptability as project objectives and processes evolve over time; strong desire to learn.
  • Professional project management experience involving coordination of multiple parties and complex schedules, in the fields of real estate development, urban planning, public policy, economic development, construction, architecture/design or related industries.

  • Familiarity with the concept of property-based financing districts, such as Community Facilities Districts (a.k.a. Mello-Roos Districts) and Business Improvement Districts (and their San Francisco analogs: Community Benefit Districts and Green Benefit Districts).
  • An entrepreneurial and open-minded attitude, and a strong eagerness to learn.

Through its infrastructure work, ULI promotes more environmentally and economically sustainable infrastructure investment choices, and fosters an improved understanding of the links between infrastructure and land use. Infrastructure in this context refers to transportation, energy, water, and wastewater, among other topics. The Building Healthy Places Initiative leverages the power of ULI’s global networks to shape projects and places in ways that improve the health of people as well as communities.
The person hired for this position will undertake research and work on matters that cut across infrastructure and health—for example, air quality, water quality, active transportation, food, climate change, etc.—and will undertake projects that relate to and support work that spans the ULI centers. The person in this position will report to the Senior Vice President for Content.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will:
  • Support ULI publications related to infrastructure, including but not limited to transit-oriented development and active transportation.
  • Track policy at the national, state, and local levels related to transportation, energy/climate change, water and wastewater, and health.
  • Track and write about local and regional infrastructure innovations and related data, targeted to the ULI membership.
  • Serve as an expert resource and adviser to ULI members, district councils, and staff on infrastructure and related issues.
  • Support the ULI Healthy Corridors project.
  • Interface and strategically engage with partner organizations on policy, health, and infrastructure issues. 
  • Plan and execute forums, conferences, and other events.
Specific deliverables and projects include:

  • Prepare and conduct meetings with ULI members and outside experts to research and disseminate ideas, as they are relevant to ULI. This may include organizing forums; developing event programs; identifying speakers and participants; developing supporting materials; and implementing follow-up actions.
  • Compiling infrastructure and health-related program ideas for district councils.
  • Regular tracking and updating of Content group on policy areas discussed above, with exploration of potential impacts to the real estate industry.
  • Paying attention to communications platforms including infrastructure and health portions of ULI’s website, e-newsletters, mailings, and more.
  • Assisting in attracting sponsorship and foundation grant funds.

Position Summary
The position of the Research Manager is a newly created position at Water.org. The Research Manager will plan and manage a wide variety of water and sanitation research initiatives, conduct greater analysis of Water.org data to package into research products, and support program evaluation efforts. This is a collaborative and facilitative role that demands focus, cultural sensitivity and requires a highly-resourceful individual with strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and analytical skills.
The Research Manager will work on the International (IP) team within its Monitoring and Evaluation unit and be based alongside other members of the IP team at our headquarters in Kansas City, MO. The research manager will report to the Senior Manager, Information and Evaluation who is based remotely. S/he will also work with other members of the Water.org team in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Peru, and the U.S.

Key Responsibilities
Research and evaluation design & management
  • Plan, design and manage a wide variety of water and sanitation research initiatives. Includes longitudinal studies involving baseline, end-line, and impact studies.
  • Manage and oversee research consultants.
  • Contribute to the design of research tools and methods.
  • Support program evaluations including design, implementation and analysis.
    Data analysis and dissemination activities
    • Perform statistical analyses on data, contributing to the greater analysis of Water.org’s data.
    • Analyze data using qualitative and quantitative methods using statistical applications such as STATA,
      SPSS, R, etc.

  • Develop charts, figures, and analytical text for briefs and reports of research findings.
  • Disseminate research findings to various stakeholders.
  • Contribute to reports, research papers and learnings.
  • Assist in devising methods and procedures for collecting, cleaning, organizing and processing data.


    Requirements
  • Master’s degree in statistics, international development studies, health, economics, or an appropriate related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience conducting research, including research planning and design.
  • At least 3 years of experience related to quantitative or qualitative research.
  • Strong analytical skills, including fluency in working with a statistical software package to analyze,
    summarize, and produce reports from large, complex datasets.
  • Experience working with multivariate analysis.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
  • Computer literacy, including basic MS Office packages (especially Excel), online and/or in-house
    database platforms.
