Position Description

The Marketing & Development Coordinator is responsible for completing a broad variety of marketing and development functions in conjunction with the Director of Marketing & Development. The Marketing & Development Coordinator is accountable for 1) assisting in managing relationships with our 50+ member organizations; 2) supporting all communications and fundraising on behalf of ACT, which includes multimedia, events, donor management and special projects; 3) collaborating across ACT’s internal teams to integrate and innovate; as well as, 4) executing the overall marketing and development strategy to connect, elevate, and positively promote Austin, Austin Coming Together, and the various stakeholders that contribute to the overall improvement of service delivery for Austin residents.

What: IPHI is seeking an energetic and well‐organized team member to provide high-level planning, administration and operations support for a national grant-making and community support program. IPHI operates Data Across Sectors for Health (DASH) which identifies barriers, opportunities, promising practices and indicators of progress for multi-sector collaborations that connect information systems and share data for community health improvement. This position supports our national work at the nexus of health data, community collaboration and the social determinants of health, including support to cutting-edge communities across the country. Duties and responsibilities include program management and administration, communications and networking support, grants management and community support, and meetings and events management. 


Qualifications: Demonstrated experience and credentials in public health, public policy, healthcare, community services, or a related field. Minimum of one year of work experience in project or grants management, events management, health informatics, budget and financial reporting, health data and information systems, or program performance and evaluation. Candidates can write well, work fast, and succeed independently and in teams. We are especially interested in candidates who have experience working with diverse populations in a variety of community settings. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree and experience with project management, communications, or administration and events management.

The mission of the Pediatric AIDS Chicago Prevention Initiative (PACPI) is to eliminate deaths from pediatric AIDS and to reduce transmission of HIV from mothers to their children in the state of Illinois.

The AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) mobilizes communities to create equity and justice for people living with and vulnerable to HIV and related chronic diseases. We envision a world in which people living with HIV and related chronic diseases will thrive, and new HIV infections will be rare. For more than 25 years, Chicago has celebrated bicycles during the month of June. The Active Transportation Alliance has been involved in Chicago Bike Week in recent years by organizing the Bike Commuter Challenge and this year will be taking over the production of the Chicago Bike Week Rally to take place June 10 – 17 with the rally on the 10th. The Chicago Bike Week Manager will play a lead role in organizing the Chicago Bike Week Rally and overseeing the Bike Commuter Challenge. The goal of the Bike Commuter Challenge is to connect with area organizations and businesses to encourage their employees to bicycle to work and track their trips. Active Trans provides participating organizations with a packet of materials, employee trainings and technical support. Winning organizations in several categories are invited to attend an awards party. Throughout the week, Active Trans hosts 25 “Bike Pit Stops” around the region where bike commuters can grab free coffee, get a bike check, learn about Active Trans and hang out with other bike commuters. In 2016 the programming may expand to include a small number of ‘bike-away’ after-work and other Bike Week events. Each year more than 6000 employees from over 1000 organizations in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs participate in the Bike Commuter Challenge and over 3000 attend the Chicago Bike Week Rally.

Definition and Purpose
Under the supervision of the Director of Events and Marketing, the Chicago Bike Week Manager promotes, manages, and executes the Chicago Bike Week Rally, Bike Commuter Challenge and other Bike to Work Week outreach and event logistics. The position is temporary, requiring approximately 20- 30 hours per week for 12 to 14 weeks from mid-March through mid-June, with an increased time commitment preceding and during the event week.

The Chicago Bike Week Manager will be a member of the Active Trans Events team and will also be required to assist with weekend-of-event duties for MB Bike the Drive May 27-29, 2016.

Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills
  • Tech Savvy with demonstrated experience in the following:              
    Microsoft Office (especially Excel); Database Management (Raiser’s Edge or other Blackbaud products); Social media management and strategy; Email campaign management (Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, Luminate, etc.); Website content management
  • Experience with event planning and sponsorship fulfillment
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities
  • Strong time management abilities
  • Self-motivated worker able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Available for occasional early morning and after-work events, especially during the event week
  • Ability to speak and write authoritatively about bike commuting
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate recruiting and outreach to new and previous participants of the Bike Commuter Challenge, plus volunteers
  • Coordinate marketing and publicity with Director of Events and Marketing
  • Deliver Bike to Work Presentations at participating organizations
  • Coordinate all participant communications for the Bike Commuter Challenge
  • Manage procurement, assembly, and distribution of information packets, including printed and downloadable materials
  • Manage all permitting and logistics for the Chicago Bike Week Rally in Daley Plaza
  • Assist with sales for booth space at the Chicago Bike Week Rally
  • Coordinate “Bike Pit Stops” every morning throughout the week and other events as needed
  • Assist with program wrap-up, including collecting results
  • Produce the Team Leader post-party after Bike to Work week in coordination with the Sr. Event Manager
  • Provide Event Support the weekend-of-event for MB Bike the Drive (May 27-29)
Salary and benefits
This position pays $10-15 per hour, depending on experience. The position is temporary, requiring approximately 20 hours per week for 12-15 weeks, weekly hours may increase as the event nears, and additional time commitment is required during the event week (40+ hours).

Primary Responsibilities

• Corporate Brand Management – lead efforts to improve brand visibility and effectiveness in key target markets within Oak Park and the Chicagoland commercial real estate community;

• Web Site Management - manage the design and redeployment of the company’s website along with ongoing content updates;

• Public Relations & Social Media - press release copy-writing, curate social media, creation and  distribution of email campaigns via Constant Contact;

• Graphic Design - responsible for creating visual designs for web application, media advertisements and collateral materials;

• Event Management - planning and execution of company events such as annual meetings or offsite

Desired Experience and Competencies

• 2-3 years of experience in a marketing, PR or communications role;

• Strong project management experience;

• Strong social media and web development skills;

• Knowledge of and interest in community marketing, commercial real estate and economic development;

• History of success with brand building and community promotion through social/new media;

• Experience with graphic design and collateral production;

• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both informal and in presentation with a proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships;

• Energetic and lively personality; enjoys social functions, meeting and interacting with community members and promoting the organization and community.

The Manager Role 
The Manager’s overall responsibility will include planning and executing programs for ULI San Antonio. This entails working closely with the Executive Director, Chair, volunteers, and other committee members to set the vision and execute logistics.
The District Council Manager is a professional position within the District Council, serving as liaison between the Executive Director of ULI Houston/San Antonio, the other Texas District Council offices, and ULI headquarters in Washington, DC, ensuring that all work is consistent with ULI’s policies and procedures, and the District Council goals are met and ULI’s mission is carried forth.
Requirements
Due to the nature of the position with a non-profit organization, the Manager must be highly-motivated, detail-oriented, well-organized, and have a passion and ability to guide and support professionals involved in the District Council’s program of work. The Manager is courteous and friendly as the face of the ULI and the District Council.  The District Council Manager has a flexible work style and a familiarity with San Antonio. 
The ideal candidate will have a passion for urban planning and possess excellent communications and organizational skills. 
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of overall related experience. Experience in marketing, communications, public affairs and/or public relations, events management. Knowledge of land use planning and real estate development industry.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point). Familiarity with Salesforce 2014 desirable.
  • Experience with social media marketing, and networking, ability to edit blogs and website content.
  • Strong written and oral communications and interpersonal skills to work with senior business and public sector executives.
  • Ability to initiate tasks and assume responsibility, and to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment with a high-volume of work. Ability to prioritize tasks, to handle multiple tasks concurrently and completely, with responsible follow-through.

  • Ability to travel to early morning and evening events in San Antonio and around Texas. Ability to assist with events including set up and tear down. Use of personal vehicle.
