GRADUATE HEALTHCARE ADMINISTRATION TRAINING PROGRAM (GHATP)/RECENT GRADUATE – The GHATP provides 12 months of in-hospital experience for students who recently received a Master's degree (MHA, MSHA, MPH *MPA or *MBA) from an accredited educational institution. *MBA and MPA candidates must have had a minimum of 2 courses in healthcare administration in order to qualify. The recent graduate program provides the agency with the opportunity to place a recent graduate in a one year career development program. Agencies may noncompetitively convert participants who successfully complete the program to a term or permanent competitive service job. This appointment does not guarantee a placement to a permanent position.
The incumbent will complete rotations within the facility, and to the clinics served by the Jesse Brown VAMC. The incumbent will contribute to key projects, attend a variety of local and VISN 12 meetings, and participate in selected aspects of healthcare administration. The incumbent is encouraged to provide insight, analysis, and creative alternatives as a member of the executive team.
Selectee will participate in the Graduate Health Care Administration Training Program (GHATP): http://www.vacareers.va.gov/students-trainees/administrative.asp This is a temporary appointment with non-competitive eligibility for a permanent appointment upon meeting requirements.
The GHATP Program is a 12-month experience under the preceptorship of the Medical Center Director and is a part of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' Graduate Healthcare Administration Training Program (GHATP).
Work Schedule: M-F 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
