The Manager Role
Reporting to the Executive Director, Southeast Florida/Caribbean District Council, the Manager will be responsible for program management, event planning, operational support and communications services for the Southeast Florida/Caribbean District Council of ULI. The ideal candidate will have a passion for urban planning and possess excellent communications and organizational skills.
The District Council Manager’s overall responsibility will include planning and executing programs for the Southeast Florida/Caribbean District as well as managing member communications, outreach and membership and marketing databases. This entails working closely with other staff, District Council members and volunteers; identifying and arranging for speakers; staffing committees, and helping to identify funding opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of overall related experience. Experience in marketing, communications, public affairs and/or public relations, events management, project coordination. Knowledge of land use planning and real estate development industry. Advanced degree in real estate or business a plus.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point). Experience with social media marketing, and networking, ability to edit blogs and website content.
- Professional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to work with senior business and public sector executives.
- Ability to initiate tasks and assume responsibility, and to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment with a high-volume of work. Ability to prioritize tasks, to handle multiple tasks concurrently and completely, with responsible follow-through.
- Self-starter who can also work as part of a team, with meticulous attention to detail and deadlines.
- Ability to travel to ULI events throughout the region, including early morning and evening events. Some statewide travel and very limited out of state travel may be required.
