GoldmanHarris LLC is New York City’s leading boutique zoning and land use law firm. We provide legal services to developers, architects and lenders on a wide array of real estate projects. We are seeking an Urban Planner or Architect with 1-5 years of relevant experience to take on a leadership role as a planner and project manager.
NYC zoning experience is essential.
A successful candidate must possess excellent project management skills and be a self-starter capable of thriving in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Degree Requirements:Master’s Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Real Estate or a related field is required. We will consider applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or a related field and relevant experience.
Salary: $55,000 – $80,000+ commensurate with experience.
Primary responsibilities would include:
  • Working with the development, architectural, environmental and consulting teams to coordinate and execute City Planning Commission and Board of Standards and Appeals applications; managing application filings and interfacing with public sector.
  • Performing zoning analyses and due diligence.
  • Conducting planning research to support land use applications and assignments.
  • Assisting in drafting opinions, memorandums and written deliverables for clients; producing visual communication materials as necessary; editing Zoning Lot Development Agreements, Restrictive Declarations and similar legal documents under supervision of Attorneys.
A qualified candidate would possess:
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Working knowledge of New York City’s Zoning Resolution.
  • Familiarity with the planning and development processes for New York City.  
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and with limited supervision.
  • Competence in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) is preferred.
