The selected candidate will compile & digitize other documents; design, develop & implement applications for accessing & analyzing spatial data; provide expertise for GIS system hardware/software, monitor system performance, and install, configure & maintain GIS software; document system/database parameters & usage guidelines; perform GIS troubleshooting activities and implement corrective action; and design & implement spatial databases for identified GIS applications, and document structures / verify compliance.
The GIS Analyst/Technician will also consult with users regarding data collection methods & maintaining data integrity; advise users of problems with daily operation of software & systems; provide user training/support on GIS software; help coordinate, monitor and evaluate the performance of outside GIS consultants, and act as Project Manager for GIS conversion projects.
Requirements: 
1-4 years Experience.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, both technical and non-technical, is required. Innovation and creativity, in addition to analytical skills and technical aptitude, are valued attributes for this position. Desired skill areas include geographic principles, cartography, mobile applications, geo-processing and spatial analysis, database management within utility sector, cadastral data, CAD integration, and Arc GIS server technology.
Skilled with custom GIS tools and database development. Have strong experience with ESRI ArcGIS products. Possess knowledge of programming languages (VB.NET and C#)
We are only seeking local candidates, due to the fact that the applicant needs to be able to start by Feb 1st 2015.
Qualifications: 
BS or equivalent in Geography, Planning, Engineering, or -related field. 1-4 years of professional GIS experience with engineering/drawing/Data and utilities experience preferred. Strong cartographic skills and ArcGIS 10 skills required; additional specialized software experience is helpful. Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team are required.
