Part-time Clerical Assistant to the Property Manager (20-29 hrs.)
LUCHA seeks a part-time clerical assistant to work with the property manager.
About LUCHA:
LUCHA, an EEO/AA employer, is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1982 that develops decent, affordable housing and provides housing services in the Chicago’s Humboldt Park, West Town, Hermosa, and Logan Square communities. The agency provides housing rehabilitation and construction, homeownership counseling, foreclosure intervention, technical and community organizing assistance, and housing advocacy.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Calling applicants from the wait list, screening, schedule and process applications.
• Follow up with the applicants to schedule appointments and make reminder calls.
• Maintain and update building and client database.
• Contact tenants who are delinquent on rent payments and take appropriate steps to bring rent current.
• Type documents, letters, memos, proofread, mail, e-mail or fax.
• Maintain all files in proper order, well organized, all files direct detailed.
• Answer and direct phone calls for the Property Management Department (work orders) and follow up.
• Assist the Property Manager with clerical task and other duties as assigned.
• Serve as alternate contact with attorney to process evictions and or demands for payments.
• The Clerical Assistant supports the Property Manager with an emphasis on maintaining buildings physically and financially sound.
Qualifications:
• Minimum GED/High diploma or relevant experience with a proven ability to accomplish defined goals and meet strict deadlines.
• Basic computer skills, including MS outlook, Excel.
• Ability to deal effectively with a wide range of individuals of various ethnic and economic backgrounds.
• Good communication skills, detailed orientated, solid record of dependability, punctuality and productive. Quick learner and hard worker.
• Must have ability to lead, motivate, delegate and supervise.
• Bilingual a plus.
Hours: Schedule negotiable. Office is open 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Some evening and weekend meetings needed for short-term project.
Salary: $9.00 to $10.00/hrs. Based on experience and performance.
Reports to: Property Manager
