Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority (RGRTA), NY
The Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority (RGRTA) provides public transportation to a six-county region in the Rochester, New York area. Governed by a 13-member Board of Commissioners, RGRTA has 410 buses serving 17.8 million customers annually in a service area population of almost 1.1 million. The Authority employs 820 personnel and has a total operating budget of approximately $80 million. The Board is seeking candidates for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO reports to the Board and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Authority. RGRTA has transitioned into a highly-functioning agency through effective leadership and implementation of strategic planning processes and performance measurement initiatives. The Agency currently provides exceptional customer service in a culture which emphasizes excellence and transparency. The new CEO will build on these successes and provide the leadership, vision and direction needed to continue advancing the agency’s mission. A creative visionary with exceptional leadership skills is needed. Candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an open management style that emphasizes teamwork. Must be collaborative and able to engage staff at all levels. At least ten years of progressively responsible senior management experience in a service-oriented industry such as transportation is desired; union negotiations experience a plus. A Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Business Administration or a related field is required; a Master’s Degree is preferred. The salary range is open, dependent upon qualifications, and is accompanied by an excellent benefits package. Position is open until filled.
