Transportation and Land Economics Intern

The Center for Clean Air Policy (CCAP), a renowned leader for more than two decades in the global climate change policy arena, is seeking applications for a Transportation and Land Economics Intern. CCAP’s Transportation Department is open to crafting an internship role that is a match between its project needs and the candidate’s specific interest area and expertise. This temporary position is located in CCAP’s Washington, DC offices and may be either full- time or part- time. A remote part-time start during the spring may be considered, as well as candidates working from home in MontrĂ©al.

CCAP’s mission is to significantly advance cost-effective and pragmatic air quality and climate policy through analysis, dialogue and education to reach a broad range of policymakers and stakeholders worldwide. With the publication of Growing Wealthier, CCAP has focused policy attention on the economic and quality-of-life impacts of transportation and development decisions. We are now working with leading researchers, modelers and practitioners to enhance tools for assessing and maximizing economic and livability benefits.

Responsibilities

The intern will assist program staff with the execution of CCAP’s transportation work. The focus of the internship will be research and writing on the economic and livability impacts of transportation and land use policies and projects. The intern may also be asked to assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, formatting documents, or assisting in event planning. Knowledge of the economic impacts of transportation and land use planning at a national, local and/or regional level is required.

Qualifications:

* Current graduate student (Master's level preferred) or recent graduate from a program in Transportation, Economics, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Public Policy or a related field;
* Coursework in economics, econometrics, planning, energy & environmental policy, quantitative research, or engineering required;
* Prior internship experience and/or publication a plus;
* Excellent research skills required;
* Strong quantitative skills preferred; and
* Superior oral and written communication skills.
