ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR: FOUNDATION, MAJOR GIFTS, SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM, CORPORATE GIVING
Harper College is currently seeking an experienced professional to create and implement focused fundraising programs and initiatives designed to generate major gifts from individuals and corporations in support of scholarships, programs and objectives of the Harper College Educational Foundation. Working with the Executive Director and board of Directors, the successful candidate will plan and implement major gift strategies directed at selected individuals, corporations and foundations capable of making cash and planned gifts of $10,000 or more. You will maintain a portfolio of 125 major gift prospects, design the newsletter and webpage and assist with special events. You will also interact with Board members, donors, community leaders, government officials and business leaders to promote and articulate the Foundation's mission, vision and funding needs to the greater community resulting in the recruitment of volunteers and the realization of major gifts from individuals, corporations and local businesses.

Requirements include:
  • Bachelor's degree with preferred specialization in Psychology, Sociology, Communications, Journalism or Business
  • At least five years of progressively successful fundraising experience.
  • Experience in personally asking for and achieving major gifts.
  • Knowledge of and successful solicitation of planned gifts preferred.
  • Good communication skills required.
  • Goal oriented and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
