Visiting Research Spec., Inst. for Health Research & Policy, UIC

The Institute for Health Research and Policy (IHRP) in the School of
Public Health is searching for a full time Visiting Research
Specialist.  This individual will be responsible for conducting
performance monitoring of grantees and contractors who are implementing
the Illinois Department of Public Health’s (IDPH) “We Choose Health”
initiative.  Specific responsibilities include creating data collection
forms, managing and insuring integrity of grantee reports, analyzing
performance management data, creating reports and participating in other
evaluation tasks as required.  The individual will work as part of an
evaluation team, will report to the Project Director at UIC, and will
split time between IDPH's downtown Chicago office and UIC’s facilities.
Bachelor’s degree required (Masters preferred) in public health,
sociology, epidemiology, psychology or related field with 3 years
relevant experience.  Must have working knowledge of evaluation
principles and conduct; understand data collection strategies, data
integrity, data base management, analysis and reporting; and have
experience with local public health program implementation and
evaluation.  Successful candidate will have completed coursework in
evaluation or evaluation methods and possess strong organizational
skills.  Experience with governmental public health organizations
