The University of Illinois at Chicago invites applications and nominations for the position of Director of Advancement/Assistant Dean for the College of Applied Health Sciences. The Director of Advancement/Assistant Dean is the chief advancement officer for the College, responsible for all activities related to identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of annual, major and planned gifts from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations. The Director also collaborates in building alumni relationships and communicating the College’s mission, vision, and achievements to key donor constituencies. The Director provides counsel to the Dean of the College and other faculty and staff on fundraising matters and reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Development.
Candidate Qualifications include:
• A bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
• Minimum five to seven years fundraising experience and a proven record of accomplishment in building relationships with individual donors, foundations, civic associations and securing gifts.
• Highly motivated, achievement oriented, collaborative and committed to ethical fundraising practice.
• Familiarity with the academic working environment and an informed interest in health care across a broad spectrum of disciplines including physical therapy, occupational therapy, biomedical and health information sciences, disability and human development, and kinesiology and nutrition are preferred.
• Membership in professional associations and the CFRE or similar credential is desirable.
