CNT Energy is seeking a Communications Associate to support its organizational and program objectives by strengthening its online communications, including through web design, content creation, and customer/supporter engagement. Primary responsibilities include providing and updating dynamic content on cntenergy.org and other CNT Energy affiliated websites, such as powersmartpricing.org and TheEnergyBills.org. Secondary responsibilities include writing, designing, producing, and distributing print and electronic materials. The Communications Associate will help CNT Energy staff clearly, consistently, and effectively communicate our mission to a wide range of external stakeholders, including policymakers, practitioners, industry leaders, media, and program participants.
Accountability
The Communications Associate reports directly to the Communications and Outreach Director and will work closely with the communications and outreach team. The Communications Associate will collaborate closely with all CNT Energy project managers on communications and outreach activities.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain CNT Energy website and affiliate websites, updating with new content on a daily basis.
Help increase and oversee CNT Energy’s online presence through social media tools.
Help oversee the design, production, and distribution of all print and electronic material, including e-newsletters, brochures, and reports.
Provide monthly analysis on web statistics.
Ensure CNT Energy brand consistency across all online channels.
Maintain visual guidelines and provide editorial support to CNT Energy program staff on all communications and outreach materials, including reports, brochures, fact sheets, annual reports, web copy, and presentations.
Occasionally create and give presentations.
Work with CNT Energy staff to clearly articulate project deliverables and prepare proposals to potential funders.
Qualifications/Skills
B.A./B.S. degree preferably in communications, marketing, journalism, web design, or related field.
At least 2 years professional experience in web design and site management.
Strong understanding of one or more Content Management System platforms (specifically Wordpress) and the ability to edit raw html content.
Experience with graphic design, including creating infographics, is highly desired.
Skill using Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience engaging audiences on social media sites.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others under deadline.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Knowledge and experience in community development, urban planning, housing, energy or environmental studies and marketing a plus.
This is an exempt position. Salary is commensurate with experience. The deadline to apply for this position is Friday, August 31st.
